The black hole attack is responsible for the consumption of all the packets from the starting source node in the wireless sensor network (WSN). The black hole node can be avoided during source to sink route establishment procedure using secured authentication process proposed here. This paper has reported, the method for prevention of black hole attack by modifying AODV (Ad-hoc On-demand distance vector) protocol. The impact of additional processing on network latency and throughput along with packet delivery ration is analyzed in which proposed protocol shows better results.
