Erick Valdés, Jacob Dahl Rendtorff · 2021
This chapter presents ethical reflections on the bioethical challenges to biolaw in the twenty-first century. Today, the technological development of modern society is characterized by an increasing ability to construct and create new life forms. It is the development of medicine, biology and genetics, combined with the revolution in computer and information technology, that is challenging our traditional worldview. Not least the production of many new organisms that transcend the species boundaries and the distinctions between nature and technological creation, human and machine contribute to this development. Presenting ethical reflections on human immortality, reproductive technology and developments of medical treatments in the health care sector, this chapter discusses the contemporary challenges that makes necessary fundamental reflections in bioethics and biolaw.
