Web Vulnerability DDOS Attack Detection in Cloud Using DBSCAN Clustering

Web vulnerabilities are exploited by attackers using DDOS attacks has become a serious threat to resource availability in cloud computing. The stand alone solution models for resource availability at the network layer and the application layer are insufficient in cloud computing. This paper proposes a hybrid cluster based correlation approach for detecting web vulnerability DDOS attacks. Our approach has two main areas i.e detecting web vulnerability DDOS attack and inducing an effective approach to distinguish the attack traffic and legitimate traffic using clustering based approach. This model also ensures the false positive attack alerts are reduced. Comparative analysis can also be done using diffierent clustering algorithms based on the data available to demonstrate the accurate DDOS detection approach.
