Aviv H. Gaon · Edward Elgar Publishing eBooks · 2021
This chapter seeks to analyses the legal definitions of artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence concept was shaped by the scientific community that created the field. However, as artificial intelligence has sparked the attention of the legal community, most scholars have preferred to ‘skip’ the process of redefining terminology, adopting instead whichever conceptions of the scientific vocabulary they believe preferable in a given discussion. The third chapter outlines the various definitions and approaches for the term ‘artificial intelligence’ and offers new terminology for that legal concept.
