Natural language processing (NLP) aims to interpret people’s language as people do. Language consideration is a very crucial task, technically. Intelligent touches of conversation that babies can understand still obscure the most authoritative machines. Even though progressive methods such as deep-learning (DL) can detect and replicate-multifarious language decorations, machine-learning (ML) modelling still lacks the conceptual understanding of what our words actually represent. That said, in the last two decades, there have been numerous milestone investigation developments in the areas of NLP and NLP understanding. The chapter describes and deliberates the noteworthy and noticeable research in the respective period, and concludes with a valuation of where we stand after more than two decades of development.
