The minimum energy consumption in the wireless sensor network (WSN) is a very interesting research topic. There is a variety of energy efficient protocols that have been introduced, typically based on a layered design model for static WSN. The most important role is to reduce mobile WSN energy consumption focused on the cross-layer model by reducing overhead control during route exploration and dynamic transmission power change. This research focuses on the designing and modeling using a cross-layer design strategy of an energy efficient WSN. This model involves four network layers: the first application layer to determine node location, the second network layer to enforce the routing algorithm, the data link layer to provide data exchange and security using media access control (MAC) protocol and the physical layer to reduce range limitations using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Energy consumption, transmission latency, packet distribution ratio (PDR), throughput, and fair index (FI) are the five parameters which measured and compared conventional methods to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed model.
