Infrastructures to engineer open environments as electronic institutions

Electronic institutions provide a computational analogue of human institutions to engineer open environments in which agents can interact in an autonomous way while complying with the norms of an institution. We survey the currently available infrastructures to engineer open environments as electronic institutions: (i) AMELI, the coordina- tion infrastructure which is core to run EIs; and (ii) the conversion of the AMELI infrastructure to run over a peer to peer network.
