Inputs Extended and Superimposed in Time

Robert A. M. Gregson · 2021

In visual psychophysics there is a phenomenon called the Broca-Sulzer effect; the duration of exposure of a stimulus modifies the brightness threshold in a nonlinear manner. The evidence on trade-off relationships between combinations of stimulus intensity and stimulus duration, and the consequent thresholds, reaction times, and magnitude estimations, has been explored by Raab and coworkers both in vision and in audition. In physiological terminology, the trajectory is also a refractory period, blocking new inputs. It is deducible that the reproduction of the qualitative features of some latency distributions which are intractable from the perspective of simpler stochastic distribution theory is immediately achieved in nr with stepped truncated inputs in the near chaotic region. The interaction between dimensions which is induced by the nonlinear properties of nΓ reveals itself in a very complicated diversity of patterns, as soon as derivative properties such as theoretical latencies and Ξ distributions of the system are explored.
