A New Method of Digital Whitening of Macrofossil Images

Abstract A new method of digital whitening of macrofossil images is based on the processing of a series of photographs of a fossil and represents a variation of the conversion photogrammetry method. It does not require 3-D modelling or specialized and expensive resources. The method is technically simple and fast. It has been tested on the imaging of large and medium-sized macrofossils, but it can also be used in the photography of small fossils, including microfossils.
