A Proposed Architecture For Resolving Performance Issues In Edge Intelligence

Brinda Parekh, Kiran R. Amin · 2021

Reducing communication delays, network latency, etc. just by bringing the data processing tasks closer to the data sources rather than performing it over some remote location, have made Edge computing an emerging and fast developing technology. Parallel to this, development, and implementation of IoT devices benefit all industry sectors which resulted in generation of massive amount data. For cloud-based applications, this type of data transmission to the cloud for processing could increase the network latency and thus making the output obsolete. To overcome these issues, edge-based applications are developing and implemented rapidly. This paper presents a proposed architecture having an edge computing layer with intelligence to solve performance issues over the network. The motive of resolving performance issues like latency, privacy, security etc. by distributing the tasks between the neighboring group of edge devices can be achieved by the proposed architecture. As a future work, proposed architecture will be implemented using efficient intelligent algorithm by measuring various performance parameters using simulator. Furthermore, preliminary experiments can be conducted to generate the results which demonstrates that the proposed architecture is promising.
