A Real-Time Digital Telephone Simulation on the Lincoln Digital Voice Terminal

Abstract : A telephone channel simulator has been implemented on the Lincoln Digital Voice Terminal (LDVT). This technical note first reviews the various distortions that occur in telephone channels and then describes the implementation. The results obtained indicate that the potential of the LDVT goes beyond the original intent of its use as a speech digitizer.
