Clustering is an effective technique that can participate to entire system lifetime, scalability and energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. Low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy protocol is a very effective protocol that enhances the network lifetime. A clustering based protocol balances the energy usage by giving equal chance to all nodes to become a cluster head. This paper presents a new algorithm to select the cluster head with increasing sensor lifetime, throughput, and the delivery packet ratio. The results show that our proposed algorithm is more efficient than previous algorithms.
