Design of Wireless Sensor Networks Using Fog Computing for the Optimal Provisioning of Analytics as a Service

Rajalakshmi Shenbaga Moorthy, P. Pabitha · 2021

Fog-based Analytics as a Service (AaaS) provisioning is introduced to minimize the delay, energy, and usage of a network, which is very high in a traditional centralized cloud. Also, new methodology based on a metaheuristic algorithm and a machine learning algorithm had been proposed for optimal provisioning of AaaS, and it was implemented for heart disease data set. The proposed mechanism used a metaheursitic algorithm, called the Firefly algorithm (FFA), integrated with fuzzy k-means (FKM) to do optimal clustering. The centroid for the cluster is then used to forecast the classes of the instances in the heart data set, and the resultant accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and false-positive rates were measured. Also, the experimental results shows that FFAFKM achieves better results than other machine learning algorithms such as FKM.
