Emotion vs. Information in Cine-VR

Eric R. Williams · Productivity Press eBooks · 2021

Cinematic virtual reality (cine-VR) is its own medium. A song and a movie can both make the readers cry, but they do it in different ways. Similarly, cine-VR has its own tools – tools that need to be considered, examined, and perfected if we, as storytellers, are going to harness the impressive power that it contains. One of the most intriguing aspects of this emerging medium is how the audience processes emotion and information. Storytellers can add additional complexity to the Christmas Carol Continuum by considering how the audience mentally and emotionally absorbs their cine-VR worlds. The audience&s;s ability (or inability) to absorb various aspects of a cine-VR story turns our continuum into a matrix. Each cine-VR experience was designed as a single scene in a single location with single camera placement.
