Spam Filtering Using AI

The increase in the number of unwanted mails called spam has created the need for spam filters to reduce time and effort in managing inboxes as well as in managing storage. Efficient spam filters can preclude a user from cyber fraud, and users' data can also be kept secured from spammers. In recent times, machine learning methods have been immensely successful in detecting and filtering spam mails. These models basically “learn” from experience with respect to some tasks and are capable of finding “commonality” in many different observations. This study discusses various methods of spam filtering using existing Artificial Intelligence techniques and compares their strengths and limitations.
