Threat Analysis Using Data Mining Technique

With the advancement in information technology, internet usage plays a vital role in daily activities, and due to this cyber terrorism has been increasing rapidly. Cyber criminals commit numerous cyber attacks such as Phishing, Denial of service, Password attack, etc. Due to lack of computation methods, existing technical approaches are not sufficient to investigate and control cyber attacks. Therefore the current scenario requires a more advanced approach to fix cyber-attack issues. The goal of this chapter is to analyze cyber threats and to demonstrate how artificial intelligence and data mining approaches can be effective to fix cyber attack issues. The field of artificial intelligence has been playing an increasingly vital role in analysing cyber threats and improving cyber security as well as safety. Mainly three aspects are discussed in this chapter. First, the process of cyber-attack detection which will help to analyse and classify cyber incidents. Second, forecasting upcoming cyber attacks and controlling cyber terrorism. Finally, the chapter focuses on the theoretical background and practical usability of artificial intelligence with data mining approaches for addressing the above issues through detection and prediction.
