A Survey of Human Face Recognition for Partial Face View

Face recognition technology is a modern approach with many applications. This paper reviews and compares the latest literature addressing the methods that have been adopted to recognize and identify faces using a partial face recognition view. The study covers different methods of face recognition for static images that can be classified according to three main approaches, namely the holistic, feature-based, and hybrid approaches. The different methods and approaches are examined and their limitations are identified.
