An Approach to Design Distributed Logic Controllers for Large-Scale Manufacturing Systems
Andreas Köhler, Raphael Fritz, Ping Zhang · 2021
This paper considers the design of distributed logic controllers for large-scale manufacturing systems to fulfill a given sequence of specifications given in natural language. The new concept Function Signal Interpreted Petri Net (FSIPN) is introduced. The proposed Function SIPN relates natural language specifications to sensor signal specifications that have to be satisfied by the controllers. It is shown how to transform the natural language specifications into sensor signal specifications of the plant using the Function SIPN. The proposed controller design approach determines a firing sequence that enforces the sensor signal specification on the plant. The distributed controllers for each part of the plant are derived from the firing sequence in form of Signal Interpreted Petri Nets (SIPNs).
