Use of the Third-kind Chebyshev Polynomials in Generating New Filter Functions

The paper proposes the use of the third-kind Chebyshev polynomials as functions in generating new filters. In this kind, low-pass non-recursive filters with linear phase responses are obtained. Comparative study of the frequency response characteristics of the generated filter functions with filters suggested earlier is presented. Analysis of filter characteristics due to coefficient quantization is also done.
