Real-time streaming technology and analytics are growing so rapidly that a number of firms and organizations are considering implementing this tool to meet rising business interest. The primary objective of this paper is to describe the architecture and current status of streaming technology and analytics; to showcase the leading vendors for streaming technology and analytics; to discuss various real-world use cases, benefits, and values across various industries; and to propose several research issues, implications, and solutions, along with the future.
