Large Electroweak Corrections to Heavy WIMP Dark Matter Annihilation and Resummation

In this thesis, we investigate large electroweak corrections to heavy WIMP dark matter annihilation. We calculate the one-loop potentials for arbitrary standard model representations in order to evaluate the non-relativistic Sommerfeld effect at NLO. Furthermore, we consider the resummation of electroweak Sudakov logarithms in the semi-inclusive χ 0χ 0 → γ + X annihilation process for wino and Higgsino dark matter to the NLL’ order and combine both corrections to provide the most precise cross-section predictions to date.
