MY THREE commitments when I made my opening remarks during Display Week 2020.Honestly, I thought it might be too ambitious of a goal when last year's attendance was about 5,700, and the past record was approximately 8,500.But to my surprise, the actual number exceeded my expectations and marked a new record!I would like to thank all the contributors who made this happen. This is truly a wonderous feat!Twelve years ago, SID faced a difficult situation.Influenced by world events at the time-namely, the financial crisis and the bird flu-only 3,700 people attended Display Week. Also, during that time, people had a sense that the progress of flat-panel display technology's evolution might be complete.Large, bright, and thin LCD televisions were in every living room, and it was hard for people to imagine room for improvement.
