The approach taken to NLP in the OpenCog project up through 2013, in practice, has involved engineering and integrating rule-based NLP systems as “scaffolding”, with a view toward later replacing the rule content with alternative content learned via an OpenCog system’s experience. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
