Linux Inter-Process Communications

Sunil Kumar Singh · 2021

This chapter provides insight into various methods of inter-process communication (IPC) facilities that are used to communicate processes (and threads) with others for transferring data with each other. There are various ways to communicate between parents and child processes, unrelated processes, and even processes of different systems. The IPC services are classified into communication, synchronization, and signal. Therefore, this chapter briefs you with various forms of IPC, such as shared memory, message queue, pipe, and sockets with their system call in C language.
