The core of this article is to present the development of a prototype of a mini washing machine, inspired by Miele initiative of workshop for students, which simulates the basic functions of a real washing machine. It all started when we took part in a workshop organized by Miele in February 2020 at University Politehnica of Bucharest, where we had the opportunity to meet the organizing team. We were pleasantly impressed with the initiative and from what we saw during the workshop, at the end of which a close connection between academia and industry resulted. Time passed and the pandemic came, which endangered the local workshop and we wanted to find a solution so that it could still take place, which regulated the collaboration. We looked for several applications that students could use extensively, remotely, and free of charge, but that also included most of the existing components of a real washing machine in order to create the most detailed virtual model possible. We managed to find and use an online platform that has a programming interface, a C \ C ++ library, electronic components and on which we can display data in real time, and which allows us to use an virtual Arduino Uno microcontroller as the basis for the system.
