Abstract In this article, a bidirectional relay network based on OFDM with multiple antennas at source nodes is proposed. The concepts of Transmit Antenna Selection (TAS) and Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) are applied at the source nodes in first and second time slots respectively to exploit spatial diversity to improve the outage performance in the presence of phase noise. Modeling and analysis of the proposed bidirectional relay network in the presence of phase noise are briefly discussed. Analytical results have been verified by Monte-Carlo simulations. The performance of the proposed work is compared with the literature, and better performance is observed in the proposed work
