Cloud Based Attendance Application Using Face Recognition

Face recognition is one of the best biometric identification methods that humans have relied on for generations. Humans have naturally been good at distinguishing different faces, and with today's technology computers too have achieved the ability to do this. In the context of attendance marking in various institutions, the current methods cost either human effort and time, or are expensive and complex to set up. The problems of proxy attendance, long time consumption and tedious management efforts are worth addressing, and this is possible by leveraging the modern-day computer's face recognition capabilities to create an alternate solution. This paper proposes a user-friendly and inexpensive system which uses face recognition methods to ease the problems of traditional attendance marking systems and allows for quick and easy maintenance of the attendance, allowing the staff to get relieved from the tedious tasks of current attendance systems.
