Internet of Things (IoT) is the network where information is sensed from the surrounding region and then forwarded to the sink. Due to the dynamic nature of this network, several issues are faced even though it has been used in several application domains. The energy consumption in IoT is considered during the work concern of this research. Clustering is the mechanism that is applied in IoT to reduce its overall energy consumption. This research aims to extend IoT's lifetime by applying multilevel clustering mechanism. The cache nodes are deployed in between the cluster head and base station in this newly proposed method. The two scenarios are implemented which are with cache node and without cache nodes. It is analyzed that scenario with cache give high performance dead nodes number, alive nodes number and transmitted packets to base station. Comparison of existing methods with proposed technique is done with the number of packet transmitted It is proposed that number of packets which are transmitted are more than existing methods.
