Mitigating collision in Multihop Wireless Networks - A Survey

R. Radha, K. Vinuthna Reddy, K. Kathiravan · Apple Academic Press eBooks · 2021

The presence of hidden terminals and the broadcast nature of wireless transmission diminish the performance of upper-layer protocols to a great extent over multi-hop wireless networks. Instability in transmission control protocol (TCP) congestion control causes severe link-layer contentions heading to collision drops and rerouting. Numerous algorithms have been implemented at diverse layers of the TCP/IP protocol suite that openly or in an alternate way mitigate the collision drops through congestion and contention control. This chapter focuses on the overview of the specified proposals and their key ideas.
