The rapid growth of networks and the increase in the value of information have led to a wide use of fog and boundary computing especially in the wireless networks of telecom operators. Creating models to study such networks is complicated due to the use of wired and wireless communications, software-configurable networks, container and software virtualization, virtual and hardware switches and routers simultaneously. Our paper is devoted to the methods to create simulation models of the fog computing infrastructure based on the open environment OMNeT++, as well as tools for analyzing the dynamic network state. The adequacy of our model has been checked statistically for each measured state of the real network. To sequence refine the model, additional generation of traffic patterns and the measure of parameter values from the infrastructure components are performed.
