Odot deos iram
Mauricio Montes Lamus · 2016
Odot Deos Iram is a piece for orchestra that explores the eclecticism in music and the concept of the tragicomedy. It mixes musical languages from the European tradition with a vanguard discourse. The principal reference is the music from Alfred Schnittke and Sofia Gubaidulina who explored the eclecticism in music. The primary musical materials are: the pedal which represents an atemporal space in the narrative, the tonal and modal moments which show the tradition and the tragic , and finally the deformations of the tradition which associates with the comic in the narrative. The eclecticism results from the mixture of tonality, its deformations and the pedal. The harmony contains tonality, modality and set theory. It uses the hexacord 6-27 (013469).
