Shortest Path for Emergency Services: A Comparative Analysis
Jenil Jain · International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology · 2021
In emergency situations, choosing a wrong route or farther end point may increase the travel time. Discovering the shortest path between the start and end point in a road network is a difficult task. This paper provides an analysis of a few path finding algorithms like Dijkstra’s and A-star with various heuristic functions, used to find the shortest route. We also propose a system which can be used in case of emergency situations like accident, theft, etc to reach the emergency destinations as fast as possible, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based system and leaflet.js.
