Research on The Characteristic Value of SA-CA-SCL for Polar Code

Yunjie Zhang, Jianping Li · 2021

Two primitive decoding algorithm for polar codes are the SC and SCL decoding algorithm. However, due to the high BLER rate of both decoding algorithm in low SNR and bit length, its practical use is limited. So naissances the CA_SCL decoding algorithm and self-adaptive CA_SCL algorithm. Simulation results show that under SNR=1, N=1024, the self-adaptive CA_SCL algorithm BLER performance can reach approximately 0.3, which is a huge improve from SCL decoding algorithm. The key technique of CA_SCL is to add CRC check bits to decide whether the trail is that of the correct results. To take one step further, we focus on the self-adaptive CA_SCL algorithm and study on the characteristic value T, which adjust the searching width L to its feasible value. In this way, we reduce the complexity of calculation.
