Pipa: Privacy-preserving Password Checkup via Homomorphic Encryption

Jie Li, Yamin Liu, Shuang Wu · 2021

Data-breach is not rare on Internet, and once it happens, web users may suffer from privacy leakage and property loss. In order to enable web users to conveniently check whether their confidential information is compromised in data-breach events while preserving their privacy, we design Pipa, which is essentially a special case of private set intersection protocol instantiated with homomorphic encryption. We choose the password checkup scenario for an entry point.
