In human identification System, Iris recognition plays a significant role. It is an automated method of biometric identification. In most of the iris recognition methods in literature, canny edge detection is used for the purpose of segmentation of iris from an eye image. In some cases, canny edge detector is combined with other algorithms such as Hough transforms, circular Hough transform transforms respectively. In the above mentioned methods, the system is subject to noise and accuracy is less. The proposed method performs segmentation using Fuzzy Interference Logic based edge detection technique. After iris segmentation process, iris features are extracted. The features extracted are used to check the authorization of a person. Hence the features of the test image are compared with the features already stored in the database. If the comparison of features extracted from the test image and that of those stored in the database, do not match then it indicates that the user is invalid and it is indicated by using a dialog box “Iris not recognized” and if both features matches it can be indicated by using the dialog box “Iris recognized” This work provides high degree of accuracy.
