Signal analysis using soft computing techniques has evolved as a promising technique of fault analysis in power system networks. A plethora of research work has been conducted and myriad literature is still being published in this domain. In the present thesis, ST has been employed as a tool of feature extraction, and ANN has been implemented for fault classification and determination of fault location. In order to train and analyze the performance of the neural networks, the Artificial Neural Networks Toolbox has been used extensively. The objective of this book is to reflect about the fundamental techniques of signal processing and their application in transient analysis of power system so that the readers can reapply the same or their modified versions in their own applications. A few of the major possible extensions of the research work have been listed below:.
