A Digital Front-End for Remotely Located Resistive Sensors

A simple digital front-end circuit is proposed in this paper to measure the remote resistances. This front-end requires four-time durations, to measure the remote resistance which is independent of wire and switch resistances. The working of the circuit and its possible error sources are discussed in this paper. Later, simulation is performed to verify the efficacy and accuracy of the proposed circuit. The simulation studies show that the proposed circuit gives 0.05% nonlinearity and the accuracy is affected due to mismatch in switch on-resistance. The detailed results of these simulation studies are also present in this paper.
