Performance Evaluation of Video Streaming Traffic in Data Centre Servers Using Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP)

Daily the demand for video streaming is increasing. On-demand, video and live streaming are becoming the aggressor in the field of data Centre networking. The load on enterprise networks is growing due to many factors. The task of streaming a video is challenging because the data should be sent continuously. The quality of streaming services majorly depends on network conditions, such as available bandwidth and delay time characteristics. The software capabilities at the client-side also play a predominant role in video streaming and impact the playback performance. In this paper, we tried to implement video streaming for switch routed DCN architecture. We observed the behavior of traffic pattern with eight servers and sixteen servers and compared the simulation results. We were also able to see the response for high video resolution and multi-casting traffic.
