The object of this study is services in a software-defined optical network (SDON). The subject of the study is flows of incoming calls and their indicators of quality of service in SDON. The purpose of this article is to study the possibility of providing a guaranteed data transmission rate to the client, depending on the parameters of the superchannel being created. The results obtained made it possible to reveal that the used number of optical subcarriers in the superchannel makes the greatest contribution to the probability of refusal in providing a service of a guaranteed data transmission rate. The methodological basis of the study is made up of the comparative and descriptive methods, the method of scientific experiment and the method of generalization. On the basis of the conducted scientific experiments conclusions are made and recommendations are worked out.
