The paper analyses embedded systems, processors, and reconfigurable architectures, from the point of view of technological possibilities and possible future directions. There is analysed the integrated circuit technologies from the point of view of Gordon Moor’s law. Which factors can influence the embedded systems and reconfigurable architectures in their development from the viewpoint of the user, and are there crises if any?
