An embedded systemmixes digital controllers realized in hardware and software with the continuous dynamics of physical systems [30]. Such systems are semantically heterogeneous, combining continuous dynamics, periodic timed actions, and asynchronous event reactions. Modeling and design of such heterogeneous systems is challenging. A number of researchers have defined concurrent models of computation (MoCs) that support modeling, specification, and design of such systems [11,22,26,28,34].
