Image encryption is used to enhance the protection of images when they are transferred over the network. Due to the complex properties of chaotic systems, chaos-based image encryption has been extensively investigated and used for real-time, secure transmission of images over networks. The proposed method uses the Two-Dimensional Logistic Adjusted Sine Chaotic Map (2D-LASCM) image encryption scheme derived from the Sine and Logistic maps. Shuffled index matrices created from chaotic matrices and plain-image added with random values are used in the encryption process to improve the security level of cipher-image. The proposed approach has excellent image encryption efficiency and a high ability to withstand various attacks, based on simulation results and security analysis.
