An Extendable Performance Test Harness to Test Early, and Often

As an information retrieval company, search relevancy is our top priority, and performance is one of its critical components. An example has been the performance driven migration of the Learning to Rank feature from the AWS hosted Elasticsearch service to the Search RePlatform (SRP) managed Solr. We focused early and throughout the project on developing processes and supporting tools to allow the SRP client to continuously execute performance tests as requirements changed and evolved. In this talk, we will discuss how such a repeatable and routine performance tests process proved key in building the client's confidence that progress was being made, and that the performance requirements would be met.
