ENHANCE ROBUSTNESS OF SCALE-FREE NETWORKS

In this paper, we investigate the network design guideline which can enhance the robustness of the network to both random failures and inten- tional attacks maximum while keeping the average connectivity h ki per node constant. We find that the strategy that protect the highest degree nodes is not effective. When 3% highest nodes are protected, the robustness only enhances about 0.001.
