【Objective】Mutation effects of low-temperature plasma on P.armandii were studied to provide theoretical references and practical guide for improving plant heredity by plasma mutation.【Method】P.armandii seeds were treated and induced by 6 different levels of plasma(150,180,210,240,270 and 300 W),and then the germination rate of seeds and growth status of the seedling were measured(control:no mutation). When seedlings grew for 180 d,their height, ground diameter and growth coefficient of variation were determined to evaluate the effects of plasma on P.armandii growth.【Result】Seed germination rate in 180,210 and 240 W treatment was 70.67%,74.67% and 72.00%,respectively.Seed germination rate of the control was 57.33%,which was significantly different(P0.05).Seedling height was 8.90,8.32 and 8.20 cm,which was significantly different from the control(7.83 cm).The thickest ground diameter of 1.88 mm(in 210 W treatment) was significantly different from the control(1.62 mm)and the ground diameter in 300 W treatment(1.50 mm).Seed germination rate in 270 and 300 W treatment was 47.33% and 28.67% down by 10.00% and 28.66%.Seedling height was 7.11 and 7.14 cm,which was remarkably lower than the control.Seedling ground diameter in 300 W treatment was lower than the control and significantly different.Growth coefficient of variation of seedling height and ground diameter in 300 W treatment was the highest(28.43 and 24.67).【Conclusion】Plasma under 270 W promoted seed germination and seedling growth, while plasma above 300 W inhibited germination and seedling growth of P.armandii.P.armandii seedling height and growth coefficient of variation could be increased by low-temperature plasma(300 W),and P.armandii breeding is better in this way.
