A Simple Algorithm For The Reduction Of Blocking Artifacts In Images And Its Implementation

In this paper we present the concept and the hardware realization of an algorithm for the removal of blocking artifacts in images and image sequences coded at very low bit rate. The algorithm is based on a Rational Operator which outperforms other conventional techniques and presents a very simple structure too.
