The papers in this special section focus on pervasive edge computing (PEC)for industrial Internet of Things. With the development of 5G technology and intelligent terminals, computation, communication, and storage capacities of devices are largely improved. Based on that, pervasive edge computing (PEC) becomes possible, where data can be processed on the network edge with the assistant of those intelligent terminals enhanced by 5G technology except the management of any centralized servers, including clouds and remote servers. The papers in this section solicits original research and practical contributions which advance PEC in industrial IoTs (IIoTs), regarding the architecture, technologies, and applications.
