Making Better Use of Computer Tools in Geometry.

Static environments do not allow students to manipulate the original objects athematics classrooms can be very busy places. An observer peering inside one of these classrooms will probably see hardworking students using various forms of technology. For example, students in a geom etry class can use computer software to manipulate shapes on the screen while exploring patterns, de veloping conjectures, and testing the validity of the conjectures. The observer may see colorful figures moving across the computer screens while students rapidly write on their papers. Two important ques tions for the observer to ponder are the following:
