A Cloud-Based Secured IoT Framework for Log Management

The world has become smart and connected with the advent of the internet of things (IoT). The two major concerns of the IoT ecosystem are its usability and security. The application domain of information technology is vast, and so the security concern is multi-dimensional. The complete system information can be traced from log files. Log files for any organization hold prime importance because they contain a lot of confidential information. They need to be protected from third-party hackers. Security is important not only at the log generation phase but also at transit, retrieval and recovery. Deploying a safe logging infrastructure in an organization involves substantial capital expenses. Here the challenges for a secure log management system are analyzed to propose a secure log management framework in IoT. Maintaining log files in a secure infrastructure for the long term can be economically achieved using the cloud.
