An Advanced Weighted Round Robin Scheduling Algorithm

Nowadays, Cloud infrastructure products are increasingly popular and the issue of Job Scheduling has become a hot research area. Job Scheduling in the Cloud Computing paradigm is a problem more difficult than the one in a conventional distributed scheme. Moreover, Job Scheduling is known to be a NP-Hard problem and as a result becomes intractable as the scale of the corresponding instance becomes larger. In this article the probabilistic Advanced Weighted Round Robin (AWRR) algorithm is introduced. Results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce both Mean Response Time and Utilization.
